The systems have high frequency ballasts, which have several benefits in comparison with magnetic ballasts:
  • Lower energy consumption
  • Flicker-free light
  • Rapid start
  • Longer lifespan for light sources
  • Automatic shut-off when light source is damaged, less risk of fire
  • Ability to dim (demands a special dimming-ballast, see Dimming)

The systems are made for T5 tubes, which allow slim, built-in light fittings. T5 also gives a long lifespan, low energy consumption and high light output.
